Taylor Ruthven is a Unicorn and Hilltopper (native Austinite and St. Edwards University graduate). She became interested in taxes one year when she didn’t want to pay for TurboTax and decided to do them herself with pencil and paper. She had so much fun doing it that she decided to change her career from performing arts to accounting. Now she is QuickBooks Online certified and has 5 years of experience preparing tax returns and bookkeeping. She will be assisting John in the preparation of tax returns and providing bookkeeping services for select tax clients. Taylor lives on the East-side and is building a chicken coop to raise chickens with her roommates and is an instructor at a local trapeze school.
Since joining the Next Step team in March, Zach has been thrilled to find himself working alongside a team of like-minded individuals with a passion for assisting clients with the growth of their businesses. While Zach is still new to the industry, he is consistently learning and actively pursuing any and all avenues to bolster his skillset in the fields of bookkeeping, tax, and payroll. When he’s not perusing through QuickBooks, Zach likes to spend much of his time outdoors. He can usually be found at one of the numerous swimming holes and green belts that Central Texas has to offer, with his two pups, Annie and Barkley.
